women's history month

March is History Month for Women - YAY! for all the women of substance who have inspired us and paved the way for a better life for us all.

The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.

Smithsonian collections celebrate the breadth of women-made films and videos on the first Thursday of each month. These special screenings of rarely seen short-form treasures include live conversations between the artists or filmmakers and Smithsonian curators.

all heart - Dolly Parton

A living example we have today is lifetime love and country music legend, Dolly Parton. Who, at 75, got a taste of her own medicine on Tuesday when she received a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine whose research she helped fund.

Dolly documented the moment in a video posted to social media in which she encouraged eligible viewers to get the shot and broke into a modified rendition of "Jolene" to that effect.

Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, I'm begging of you please don't hesitate,

Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, 'cause once you're dead then that's a bit too late."
