The halfway point between summer solstice and autumn equinox is Lammastide. Christians hold church processions to bakeries, where bakers and their crew are blessed by clergy.
Lammas is the first day of the harvest season, August 2 - and Lunar Lammas on August 9. Ending with the full moon in Aquarius - traditionally called the “Sturgeon Moon.”

A time to celebrate the earth's bounty and give thanks. It's also a timely reminder to plan for the autumn and winter as it marks the end of the summer season and a return to less sunshine hours.
It is the ideal time to pause and reflect on what is ripe for the picking and consider if it will still be wanted through the autumn and winter months.

Benevolent and bountiful Pacha Mama sustains life as she overflows with abundance. Teaching us to give without judgement or conditions. Freely offering fruits from nature to feed our bodies - to sustain and shelter us.
Lammas gives us a taste of goodness yet to come. As we sit uncertain and vulnerable - the sun begins to wane over us. As we hold our hopes high - for crop yields, healthy soil, the beauty of Spirit.

Spring's green turns golden as summer slips away. We turn to toil - collecting seeds for the future, preserving food to share with family and community.
We celebrate the joy of giving and receiving. We contemplate what grows within us. We rejoice in our harvests. Earth Mother beckons all and we step up with love offerings.
