We were a bit more scattered this year than last, but it was good to spend time with little ones and friends who we see less often than we want...and eat to our heart's content together.
We also greeted those feasting on the other side of the world.
Of course making the feast is half the fun. The skilled cooks directed the not-so-experienced ones, and we filled bowls and plates with good things in no time.
This year it was roast duck with delicious fat-roasted potatoes and garlic.
Even the brussels sprouts were special - tender and yummy, little green pearls without even a little bitterness!
The chief chefs were the bosses of the kitchen and prepared a little pre-dinner treat. Jamie's special Bloody Mary recipe is savoury, spicy and strong. Very motivating!
The kitchen staff was very festively dressed. Miraculously no stains or mess spoiled our Christmas outfits, even with all the chopping and boiling and baking.
Two nights in a row of joyful eating and chats with friends...holiday cheer indeed. Merry Christmas everyone!
