community & collaboration

wonder | wander | women are lucky to have been born and raised into a close knit extended family that loves to adopt causes and strays of all stripes and leanings. Chaotic and confusing as this can sometimes be, it keeps us all young and on our toes.

Early February we blogged about building community at Englewood Health. Now we extend this conversation to our collaborative wellness efforts at Holy Name Medical Center where we now offer Sound Healing and Reiki sessions monthly.

Holy Name is the go-to medical center for our whole family. From birth to illness to wellness it has served many of our loved ones and we have returned its love in as many ways.

Holy Name is one of only seven hospitals nationwide and the only one in Northern New Jersey to partner with the Cancer Support Community (CSC), founded in California, it describes itself as the largest professionally-led nonprofit of cancer support worldwide. It includes Gilda's Club affiliates around the country.

Formed in 2009 by the merger of The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club, CSC also conducts valuable research on the emotional, psychological, and financial journey of cancer patients. In addition, CSC advocates at all levels of government for policies to help individuals whose lives have been disrupted by cancer.

Dozens of patients and their loved ones have already participated in meditation, yoga, cooking classes, jewelry-making, dance and movement lessons offered through the Cancer Support Community at Holy Name.

As the largest professionally led nonprofit network of cancer support worldwide in 175 locations, CSC is dedicated to ensuring that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.

Join this happy movement of spreading good vibes wherever we can.
