September started of with a bang as Mahala celebrated her 41st birthday on the first of the month. In joyful celebration wonder | wander | women lined up a few choice songs to celebrate the occasion.

In true family tradition we decided to extend the joyous celebration as long as we could. Join us as we sing our lungs out and dance like crazy.
We waited for midnight on the eve of her new orbit around the sun to sing our special birthday song together — harmonizing as we sang in staggered stanzas.
Setting off on another year of adventuring. |
Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!
Many, many happy returns.
Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday!
Sun and moon and stars rejoice.
Upon your birthday.
As we join hands in a ring and sing.
With our minds like over ripe pumpkins, when midnight struck we continued our carousing with more celebratory songs.
Heaven’s holdin’ a half-moon
Shinin’ just for us
Let’s slip off to a sand dune
Real soon and kick up a little dust
The Walt Whitman poem, I Sing the Body Electric, inspired the now iconic finish to the motion picture Fame. Bold enough for an orchestra, wild enough for a rock band, inspiring enough for a gospel choir, and alive enough to dance to — we found ourselves another anthem.
I sing the body electric
I celebrate the me yet to come
I toast to my own reunion
When I become one with the sun
Next morning we were still in a singing celebratory mood — comparing the weather in the UK for Mahala and in the US for Issa. Summer is definitely over all too soon.
I’m going where the sun keeps shinin’
Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes
Banking off of the northeast winds
Sailing on a summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone
Because it’s September and the internet is blowing up with this Earth, Wind and Fire all time hit that’s gone viral with any and everybody dancing to it — we had to jump in as well.
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night
Remember, how the stars stole the night away
Ba de ya, say that you remember
We could go on and on and we probably will, seeing as we have barely passed our first week of the month. Hang on for more!
