in goddess we trust

There is wisdom in feeling deeply.
Let it bubble up to the surface as it is.
Honor it by giving it a place.
Let it be and you may see
There is beauty even in the wreckage.

It's National Roller Coaster Day, which feels totally appropriate. This whole year has been a bad ride for us with Trump at the helm, even if he is clearly out of control.

In June we took a family vacation to Toronto, Canada where we had to visit the wonder that is Niagara Falls. This time last year Mahala and I were there to visit friends and family as well.

Even when truth is a lot messier than the idealized version eventually presented in our history, the Declaration of Independence was a good start for this nation and remains our strong foundation.

In June 1776, a little over a year after the start of the American Revolutionary War, the US Continental Congress huddled together in a hot room in Philadelphia to talk independence.
