This year Disney is bringing the live-action version of its classic The Little Mermaid to theatres! This is one of wonder | wander | women's favourite fairytales, and for a long time we have been dreaming of telling our own version, set in medieval Islamic Spain - the grand era of the Alhambra and the palaces of Seville and Cordoba.

summer reads
Over here in New York City, we have the weird tradition of celebrating Christmas in July.
Maybe it is simply a commercial bid to drum up sales when the city empties out. As folks leave for vacations or are driven indoors by the overbearing heat.
Most stores start purchasing their inventory for the coming Christmas season in July. To make room for new stocks they usually put last year's unsold Christmas items on sale.

forgotten female science fiction authors
In celebration of Women's History Month this March wonder | wander | women are actively advocating for some gifted yet marginalized women writers of science fiction.
We love our women, we love our tales of science fiction and fantasy and we love the wondrous world they have opened up for us all.
When we come across female founding authors who have sadly been ignored or forgotten we are definitely publicizing them and recalling them to our attention.

CHINA at the Met Museum NYC
wonder | wander | women continues a recent post commissioned for Kate's Paperie because [1] it is a fine topic, [2] there is always more to be said and covered, and [3] it is a discussion dear to our palpitating hearts.
Every fine story has many facets to it and its own Rashomon effect and we are retelling this from yet another perspective.
Most of the coverage for this event has been from the Westerner's enthralled enchantment of orientalia and chinoiserie.
