dimensional flow

Every year since 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) has organized a global campaign for World Mental Health Day on October 10. The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) announced the theme for World Mental Health Day 2022 is ‘Make mental health for all a global priority”.

A day for all races not just for Columbus and other colonizers to blast their way through nature and what is natural. The Columbian Exchange embodies both the best and the worst of environmental and health results of contact, as well as the cultural shifts produced and its exponential results.

The gift that keeps on giving to this very day - in the best and worst ways possible - in all its increments in between.

inspirations

Lately wonder | wonder | women are back into the creative groove. We're in the throes of some really exciting work. But it suddenly reminded us...

There are people we'd love to share this work with who are now gone. People who inspired and shaped us, who in some way had a hand in making this work too.

We want to sit down with them, have a cup of coffee or some wine, say "Look at this! What do you think?" and hear what they have to say.

We can no longer invite ourselves over for dinner or merienda. We can't call them and hear their laughter. But we can put our memories of them into our work.

Some of the people we lost were mentors and fellow artists. Some of them didn't practice art but were supportive and warm people that we drew strength from.

With art, we can say "I miss you", "Thank you", or "I hope you like this". We can share it with other people who loved them and say "Don't you think they would enjoy this?" "Do you remember when we went to see this artist (or this movie)?"

Author Terry Pratchett in his book Reaper Man wrote, “No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away, until the clock wound up winds down, until the wine she made has finished its ferment, until the crop they planted is harvested. The span of someone’s life is only the core of their actual existence.”

The people we loved are departed, but we still love them and are grateful for their gifts and the time we spent with them.

embrace healing

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not saviours. They are not superheroes. They are not the great hope of America - its people are. But we have at least gained a foothold instead of falling off the cliff - time to take a breath, be grateful, and reach out for the strength to rebuild.

Valentine's Day 2018 - self love!

In these tough times, let's remember to take better care of ourselves. No better opportunity than Valentine's Day!

Everyone needs some 'me time', but people enjoy very different things - these are some of our favourite methods of self care.

celebrating non-violence

wonder | wonder | women love to celebrate diverse occasions with profuse gratitude!

We have been on a roll here, celebrating Independence Day, Labor Day, Women's Equality Day, Read A Book Day, Grandparents Day, Teddy Bear Day, World Peace Day, etc. - all with much fanfare and gusto.

Our latest cause of celebration this October 2, International Day of Non-Violence, is a personal favorite. Peace on earth and good will to all is a valuable belief to uphold.

spring is in the air

This February our home was suffused with the heady perfumes of a myriad variety of blooms all month long.

What a delight it was to get daily deliveries and many greetings from friends and loved ones all over the world.

Peace on Earth - goodwill to all our relations

flame in my heart
internal eternal flicker
living breathing fumes
kindled passion pureed
in the fire of my soul

furnace of my desire
internal eternal inferno
living breathing fervor
fevered fury ablaze
in my core and being
