September has always been a special month for wonder | wander | women. For may reasons, both personal and more.

Starting with September 1 - Mahala's birth day and Issa's labor day. We never tire of the specialness of this day for us. It truly is life changing for us both.

September 1 also marks the beginning of the meteorological autumn in the Northern hemisphere and the beginning of the meteorological spring in the Southern hemisphere.

Labor Day in the US falls on the first Monday of September, which we celebrated on the 3rd this year.

Then there's the Jewish High Holy Days which starts with Rosh Hashanah on September 9 and 10. This marks the new year, the creation of Adam and Eve, and the arrival of humanity in God's world.

In Southwest Asia and Northeast Africa this also marks the start of their agricultural cycle and economic year.



This year Grandparents Day fell on the 9th. Happy Grandparents' Day! Lola Lokas are the silver lining in our lives.



September 11 is a dark and gloomy day for us not just in the US. A wake up call that changed our whole world.

In the Philippines our homeland is fractured up in arms on September too.


The Marcos loyalists celebrate the dead dictator's birthday on the 11th and the declaration of martial law on the 21st.


The rest of the country mourn the deaths of Ninoy and Cory Aquino and the lack of consistent, clear, and clean leadership since Ferdinand Marcos was ousted.


People Power take to the streets, marching in protest and condemnation of the Marcos family and other past and current political and government misconduct.


Halfway through the month of September and the roller coaster ride is already incredible for 2018!
