the wake we make

Monday night’s Cancer Full Moon rises right in the middle of an intense astrological month, where Mars and Pluto take a starring role, along with Mars’ sister - Eris, the Goddess of Discord.

Perhaps this is our wake-up call to grow up and act as responsible adults. This is going to be an intense, as well as potentially healing full moon. Its placement in Cancer can help heal old parental wounds - which we need to recognize, forgive and let go of.

Most of our parents did the best they could without knowing how to be conscious of their wounds. Some parents were awful, but they too need to be forgiven. We all need to ask, what did we learn and how did we grow from our past - so we can leave that old story behind and write a new one.

Tall order, right? When the world all too often seems hell bent on going out in a blaze of disgrace. Perhaps this is America’s ‘wake-up’ call.

We need better government oversight to keep the community safe from the natural disasters of climate change. It’s a call to reconsider our values and what’s really at stake when we think we can survive on our own as our American myth wants us to believe.

That means getting involved in our communities. Why have no leaders called upon the people to sacrifice for the health of the environment? In times of war we were asked, and we do it. Why not do it for life?

Full Moon in Cancer ~ sensitive, nurturing, loyal

This Full Moon asks us to consider what family and community are, what safety and nurture we need, and what we can do about it ourselves. We don’t need governments or leaders to tell us. We need to take responsibility for our lives.

At the beginning of winter when the sun is in the sign of Capricorn, we have a Full Moon in Cancer. Capricorn is about the outer energy, and the mastery of our outer world. The Cancer Full Moon allows the energies of these two signs to counterbalance each other.

transmutation is a way of being

This helps us bring to fruition those things that we held close during the New Moon. We’re finally able to manifest these things - to be safely secure in bringing our feelings and desires out into the world.

Transform our challenges into light. Transmutation isn’t just a practice. It is a way of being. By aligning with intention, love, harmony, and imagination - we can transform any challenge into light and step into our true power.
