be the change

That famous quote we all attribute to Gandhi, "be the change you want to see in the world," was not what was actually said. What he did say was:

clouds got in the way

We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.” – Mahatma Gandhi

cloud illusions we recall

If we want to inspire change in our communities, both showing and telling can matter. People are more receptive to learning their behavior should change when they are being acknowledged.

what climate?

Death and destruction in the wake of Ida - all across the northeast here in the United States. The storm's tail lashed out - all wild and heavy handed - bringing high floods and causing havoc late evening and early morning, on September 1 and 2.

The Washington Time

Videos and photos of New York City - under siege and under water - caused wave after wave of surreal chills worldwide. Leaving us helpless and horrified as we watched in joined paralyzing fear.

Sudden thunderstorms have us panting in greenhouse tropical heat and humidity one minute. The next moment we are chilled and clammy, shivering as temperatures drop drastically.
