healing & good vibes

Last week was dedicated to celebrating vibratory sound at the Shift Global Summit of Sound Healing for wonder | wander | women

Sitting with a week long wide range of sound healing therapies - deep listening and connecting with a variety of sessions with leading edge practitioners in the field.

Whether to clear dissonance in our bio field, to harmonize the flow of energy in the body, to restore health with vibratory frequency, and so much more.

community & collaboration

wonder | wander | women are lucky to have been born and raised into a close knit extended family that loves to adopt causes and strays of all stripes and leanings. Chaotic and confusing as this can sometimes be, it keeps us all young and on our toes.

Early February we blogged about building community at Englewood Health. Now we extend this conversation to our collaborative wellness efforts at Holy Name Medical Center where we now offer Sound Healing and Reiki sessions monthly.

Holy Name is the go-to medical center for our whole family. From birth to illness to wellness it has served many of our loved ones and we have returned its love in as many ways.

be good | be love

In New York Open Center the Integrative Sound and Music certificate program starts its annual course in October.

A comprehensive multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary and highly experiential approach to the study of sound, music and voice and their powerful effect on the mind, body and spirit.

Now on its twelfth year, the program is headed by Silvia Nakkach who has been coordinating the program since 2014 as its lead facilitator.

whole body listening

Currently on exhibit at The Rubin Museum of Art until 8 January 2018 is The World Is Sound, featuring works of over twenty artists exploring how sound and our sense of hearing shape daily lives, traditions, histories, stories, and all existence.

The exhibition shifts the focus from the visual and explores the power of sound and the practice of listening. Site specific and special installations take over the entire museum with the major part located on the sixth floor.

As we step into the main doors, we are greeted with a recording of people chanting "Om," soothing sounds that initiate us into a serene world.

building community

wonder | wander | women are proud to announce our 2020 sound healing workshop schedules at the Graf Center for Integrative Medicine in Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.

Inside the Graf Center, Englewood NJ

The community holds a special place in our hearts. Englewood, New Jersey was the first place our extended family considered home here in the US when we came to visit our sister/aunt and her husband.

Russel & Angelica Berrie Center for Humanistic Care at the hospital complex

They kept a home here for over 20 years and the Russell and Angelica Berrie Foundation donated the building that currently houses the integrative medicine wing at Englewood Health.

ceremony & celebration

EcoDeo held a sound healing session at a new venue in our home island back in the Philippines on April 14. Hosted by Silent Sage Yoga Center in the heart of Bacolod City

It was a treat to conduct this sonic immersion and sound bath which uses vibration and resonance of different instruments to relax both body and mind. To dissolve our awareness and restore inner harmony through rhythm, beat, and melody.

To effectively shut down mind chatter and clear out mental clutter - where neither exists, a state of silence is attainable.

It was an added treat that the Sikh New Year festival of Vaisakhi or Baisakhi fell on this auspicious date. Originally a spring harvest festival celebrated in the northern Indian state of Punjab.

mixed blessings

wonder |wander | women are always eager and excited to honor and celebrate a variety of diverse occasions, traditions or beliefs.

Back home on Negros Island

We were born and raised in a mixed household. Filipino by birth nationality. Spanish on our grand/father's side. Chinese on our grand/mother's side. Benedictine Catholic in education. Taoist in practical application.

East Coast, United States

Now that we have relocated to the western hemisphere we added the celebration of Jewish holidays as well. We are all too happy to be celebrating the new year three times each year now - on January 1, on Chinese New Year and on Rosh Hashanah.

resurrecting deep forests

wonder | wander | women are currently working on a project close to our hearts and our homeland roots - the long lost mystical babaylans of Negros Island.

Concept Art by Mahala Urra

Native precolonial history is hard to confirm as the land was ancient and isolated. Original oral traditions practiced and handed down through generations by its inhabitants were systematically eradicated by a succession of colonizers.

Of particular interest to us are the Pintados and Negritos of our island home. The origins of these people is a much debated topic. The Malay term for them is orang asli, or original people.

7:7 energy gateway

Every year during the first week of July, a sacred gateway of energy is activated between Earth and the star Sirius, bringing heightened vibrations and spiritual advancements.

Sirius is considered Earth's spiritual Sun and is 23 times brighter - adding much needed light at a time when the Sun is furthest from our planet.
